Kindle Brings A Lighter and Thinner Kindle For just $139

The e-Reader war has been fueled once again as kindle brings its very economical yet feature rich Kindle for the users.  With a price tag of $139 and Wi-Fi integration, world’s largest online retailers has made a giant leap for a mass appeal in the  e-Reader market, where it is sure to emerge out with an exclusive victory.

The third generation Kindle now is 21 percent smaller and 15 percent lighter than the Kindle 2.  Plus the similar 6-inch screen now offers 50% better contrast which matches as that on the Kindle DX thus boosting the reading experience at night.  The internal memory has been doubled to 4GB that now accommodates 3,500 books easily. Another notable feature comes in the form of a WebKit browser that fastens the page turns by 20 percent.

The new Kindle is available in two versions of $189 Wi-Fi plus 3G model and $139 Wi-Fi only model, which can be pre-ordered now.

Amazon has always been one of the potential players in the e-reader industry. However Apple’s ipad with its record success has no doubt hampered the market of these e-Readers forcing the manufacturers to slash down the prices of their devices. Inspite of its higher price, iPad is still a hot selling device and with its ability to be a lot more than just a medium for reading digital books, it has has been worth the cost. The battle is getting fiercer and apparently, the day isn’t too far when e-readers will be priced even below $99. But will that mark the end of print media?
